Most important ingredients to avoid during pregnancy
The most important ingredients to avoid during pregnancy are harmful chemicals such as retinol (vitamin A), parabens, salicylic acid, artificial colors, and synthetic fragrances. Numerous studies have proven that these ingredients are unsafe during pregnancy, and we do not use them in our skincare series. Nude Story uses pure natural essential oils. Natural essential oils have certain therapeutic effects; pregnant women should avoid using products containing rose essential oil during the first trimester. Most of our products already indicate on the packaging whether they are suitable for pregnant women. Please refer to the "Safe for Pregnancy" tab to learn about products that are safe for use during pregnancy. If you have any doubts, please seek medical advice.
Most Nude Story products can be used safely after 4 months.
Important stages of pregnancy
Every expectant mother faces rapid physical and mental changes during pregnancy, such as nausea, frequent nighttime urination, back pain, and hormonal changes, which lead to increasing psychological stress.Using essential oils through diffusion, local massage, foot soaking, or bathing to help relieve psychological stress and alleviate aches and pains has become a very popular and convenient way for pregnant women to relax in recent years.
So, how can one "correctly use" essential oils so that expectant mothers can relax and enjoy their pregnancy?
First Trimester: 0–3 Months
Every expectant mother has a different constitution and reacts differently to essential oils, but the first 3 months of pregnancy are the most unstable period. To be absolutely safe, it is recommended that pregnant women avoid using essential oils during this stage as much as possible.
Second Trimester: 4–8 Months
Entering the 4th month of pregnancy is a relatively stable period, but when using essential oils, pay attention to the dosage and frequency. Use less than the standard normal amount, and keep the dilution concentration at no more than 1%.It is recommended to use essential oils such as lavender, neroli, bergamot, and Roman chamomile to soothe anxiety and negative emotions.
Third Trimester: 9 Months to Labor
As you approach your due date, the fetus drops into the pelvis, and you may feel irregular uterine contractions; this is a normal phenomenon before labor. It is recommended to use essential oils that help with smooth delivery, such as clary sage, jasmine, and ylang-ylang, as these types of oils can help stimulate contractions.
Prohibited Essential Oils
The following essential oils have stimulating effects on pregnant women or can cause smooth muscle contraction and should be avoided: rosemary, thyme, mugwort, sage, cypress, wintergreen, birch, camphor, ho leaf, clove, and basil.
