I’ve been using this for a month now. Initially, when I saw the word "gentle," I wondered if it would suit me, as I’m used to harsh products for my oily scalp 😂 but it’s actually really great and fits me perfectly! It cleanses oil gently, leaving my scalp feeling refreshed without feeling dry. By the time I get home from work, my bangs don't feel greasy—it's the best oil-controlling shampoo I've used so far! What I love most is that it controls oil while leaving my hair shiny! The texture is quite thin, and it produces a decent amount of foam, but not the dense lather you get from regular shampoos. With my long, thick hair, I need 3-4 pumps each time, so I’m going through it very quickly 🤧 It has a relaxing essential oil scent, just like their skincare products, though the first time I smelled it, it reminded me of salted mandarin 😂
As for the conditioner, at first, I felt my hair was smooth but not moisturized enough. I have an oily scalp and dry ends, and I’m used to using hair masks as conditioners. This was my first time using a completely silicone-free conditioner, so I expected it to be less moisturizing than regular ones, but it still took some getting used to 😂 However, after using it for a while (about two weeks), I noticed my hair felt smoother than when I first started, and it’s become softer too 👍🏻 I think it’s because it’s silicone-free, so I feel safe applying it higher up, almost close to the roots. I wouldn't apply the conditioners/hair masks I used before that high; I’d only go up to mid-length because if silicone touches my scalp, I’ll definitely get oily. This conditioner has a relatively thin texture, so I need 4 pumps for it to be enough. Also, you must wring the water out of your hair before applying, and wait 5 minutes before rinsing. I usually clip my hair up and rinse it out right before I finish my shower; if I don't do that, the results aren't as good 🤔
In summary, I highly recommend the shampoo 💕 Even though it’s a bit pricey for a bottle that only lasts two months, given the results, it’s worth it for an oily scalp! I would recommend the conditioner to people whose hair isn't extremely dry, as it won't be too heavy even for an oily scalp 👍🏻 Both products are paraben-free, contain no artificial fragrances or colors, and are cruelty-free 🙂
